Kids Love 2 Cook is run by Award-Winning Entrepreneur, Food Hygiene Expert, Nutrition Coach and Professional Chef - Sylvia Anderson at Sylvia A Consultancy, based in Wimbledon, SW19, London. Mama of Twinlets.

The mum behind the movement!

My name is Sylvia and I am a mum to two 10 year old twins!

They absolutely love learning about food, trying out new recipes and feeling a sense of achievement at being able to learn lots of new skills (whilst dancing around the kitchen and making a bit of a mess!)

Seeing how much they enjoyed cooking and learning inspired me to take this style of learning to other children, to give them the opportunity to also learn skills and empower them to  learn vital culinary cookery skills for life.

What can you expect from our classes?

Kids come to my classes and learn that healthy food can be tasty as well as nutritious, and that cooking is really fun!!

Most kids love to cook, it's hands on, it's messy and there's plenty of room for creativity, not to mention a sense of achievement at the end.

We teach children about food hygiene, which is extremely important - ensuring they wash their hands beforehand and in between touching raw and cooked or ready-to-eat food.

We talk through the recipe, getting them to read out the steps beforehand and get out what will be needed, we talk through the processes and plan who's going to do what, ensuring that all kids, no matter what level or ability, will always be able to contribute and come away with something they can feel proud of.

We also encourage a lot of touching and tasting of foods, making the more enjoyable for them, encouraging more adventurous eating, plus it's a good opportunity to teach children which foods are safe to eat raw.

We teach the kids a lot about the ingredients they’re using, their origins, cooking processes and techniques. Cooking can be a great way to learn about science, geography and maths (through weighing) in a practical way!

Our classes are educational but most importantly they're fun!

The mama behind the movement!

My name is Sylvia and I am a mama to two 10 year old twinlets - Luca and Francesca who are my world and love fresh homemade food like me.

My family is a mix of Italian, French, German and Portuguese, so very European and Mediterranean, fresh homemade food plays a very important part of our lives.

My grandparents were farmers in the south of France and my love for food started with them when I was a small girl. My Oma and mum always made the family fresh homemade food that always was healthy, nutritious and yummy!

As a young girl I would always help in the kitchen and come up with new ideas, fast forward a few years I left school and trained to become a qualified chef, I have been blessed to have worked in some amazing places over the years. I have worked in kitchens for over 30 years, I love entertaining guests but especially my family, no-one goes hungry in my house... famous quote... " can i have some more please" as my husband would say you make enough food for an army!

Luca and Francesca absolutely love learning about food, trying out new recipes and feeling a sense of achievement at being able to learn lots of new skills (whilst dancing around the kitchen and making a bit of a mess!)
