They are very low in calories but high in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. You can add them to lot of different dishes for a kick of spice. Capsaicin is what gives these chillies their spice, but it also prevents food from spoiling as it prevents the growth of bacteria and yeasts, reducing the risk of infectious diseases.

These chillies are also great as they have got a punch of vitamin C and B6, as well as boosting your metabolism. This helps with the fat-burning ability of your digestive system, helping to keep you healthy.

To find the best jalapenos, look for ones that look fresh and smooth, and avoid scarred ones as they usually have a stronger flavour. Be careful when cooking with them, as if you rub your eyes after handling them it can be very painful!
