N is for nectarine...

These fruits are cousins to peaches, and like most fruits they are packed full of healthy nutrients. Nectarines are tasty fruits that belong to the Rosaceae family. Generally grown in warm regions, Nectarines are also called “stone fruits”. They are high in fibre, potassium, vitamin C, and they are good at keeping your kids gut healthy. They also contain beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A, protecting cells and preventing damage.

When you buy nectarines, the most important thing to check is the smell! The stronger and nicer they smell, the riper they will be. If they look nice but are slightly firm and don’t have much aroma, you can always keep them to ripen at home, just make sure you keep them at room temperature to do so.
