Not just a flavour of ice cream, vanilla is actually a bean that is used in cooking and baking. Although vanilla itself doesn’t contain a lot of nutritional value, it is quite sweet despite not having much sugar so it can be an alternative to less healthy options. It does still contain antibacterial and antioxidant properties, but as it cannot be eaten in great portions, it tends to be used more as a cooking tool.
